Her jewellery references the ancient history of her homeland. “History is alive,” she explains when asked about her inspirations. “It is there to show and teach us how to go forward.”

Unsurprisingly, given its luxury aesthetic and cultural references, her jewellery has been used as state gifts by the Greek government. What’s more, anyone who is anyone in Greek society is said to own a piece of Vassiliki jewellery.

Each piece of Vassiliki jewellery is hand-forged in 18-22K yellow gold using ancient goldsmithing techniques because, she says, “making things by hand creates a connection with the soul.”

 I spent a little time this morning picking out my stand out Vassiliki pieces. They include the scrolling Leaf ring (above) and the 18K yellow gold cuff (below) featuring a diamond-embellished anthemion or stylized palm leaf which is a popular architectural motif in ancient Greece.(Adorn)
